About
The new face of hip-hop, southern rapper Jeff Johnson a.k.a. Southpaw Outlaw has astounded the hip-hop scene with a new sound, which includes a California influence, a southern accent and metaphors with a New York style. “A versatile rhymer with a flow that ranges from Texas to Kentucky, the Southpaw Outlaw also is a workaholic in the studio, 24/7.” – DJ DCeezy
Jeff Johnson, the lively and high-spirited performer has a way of giving back to the crowd what they give him, life and adoration. His love for writing is almost as strong as his love for performing, which shows in his interaction with a crowd that leaves his group of growing fans not only satisfied but wanting more.
Born in 1986 in the Virgin Islands, Jeff Johnson was soon to become a Kentucky native. After his birth, Jeff’s mother and father moved to Kentucky to live as they unknowingly awaited the fate of his father’s
death in 1989. After that devastating tragedy, his mother packed up their belongings and moved into Jeff’s grandmother’s home in Kentucky, where he would be raised by his mother and grandmother. As Jeff got older, he realized at about the age of fourteen, his small simple town in the heart of Kentucky needed some life. He began to really listen and understand hip-hop, the music that he had been influenced by since he could remember. Mostly influenced by mainstream rappers such as 2pac, Too Short, Eazy E and Jay Z, Jeff began to write songs and understand his unique talent.
In his high school days, Jeff did small performances during lunch being surrounded by large crowds and at parties with local friends and schoolmates. Since high school, Jeff has recorded many songs which
have gotten popular amongst hip-hop listeners. Jeff started promoting himself and did performances at local clubs and parties. After his name got around to club promoters, Jeff started performing in popular
hot spots such as clubs in Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, and Indiana. Opening shows for Akon, B.G., 112, Mike Jones, Paul Wall, Crime Mob, and Jody Breeze.
“The only thing that got the crowd moving that night!! He did his thang.”, raves Dolowhite of Nashville’s most popular radio show, Dolowhite and Skoobie on radio station 101.1 The Beat. Many other great things have been said about Jeff Johnson by inherents of the music industry, which only goes to show his incessantly rising fan base. As a believer in Jeff, Reuben Nathan, Jeff’s manager and owner of FSH Records, recently signed Jeff to a recording deal with confidence that Jeff is the next hip-hop icon.
